The Victorian influence
The Romans were the first to build conservatories, using classic marble and stone.

Centuries later, in the 1600s, conservatories gained favour once again as orangeries - intricately fashioned from wrought iron and glass.

It was the Victorians, however, who built the first 'modern' conservatories.

Modern materials enable traditional designs to be faithfully reproduced, including roof crestings, finials, glazing bars and stained glass motifs.
Conservatories from dream to Reality
Adding a conservatory is a major home improvement and your Swish Authorised Installer can help you with every aspect of the project to make the whole project as simple and worry-free as possible.

Conservatories are not only for the long summer months, if you plan ahead, they can be enjoyed all year-round. The key aspects to remember to include in your design are adequate heating, lighting and ventilation. Your conservatory can then become the perfect venue for special occasions, family birthdays, dinner parties, Christmas get-togethers or everyday relaxation, whatever the season.
